OK, here goes.. After I had Alyson, my P.M.S seems to have gradually gotten worse, PMDD to be exact. For those of you that dont know what that is, its like PMS, but 50 times worse. Most days when I PMS, I am super emotional, I either feel like life is too difficult and I'd rather be a hobo with no worries but my B.O. and getting my next meal. Other days I hate everyone who has ever wronged me, some days I have no patience and I want to beat the tar out of Matt and the kids.
I hate feeling this way, I thought it would go away if I ate healthier and took vitamins and worked out at the gym. Well I just started taking my vitamins everyday and I am still working on cutting all the junk out of my diet, I usually eat healthy all day except between 1 and 5 in the afternoon when I crave sweets. And I go to the gym Monday through Friday.
So I called my doctor (my ob/gyn) and he prescribed me a generic for Zoloft, but I dont want to be on depression meds, I am not depressed. Matt and my mom and a few other people I have talked to, advise me not to take it. They say it has nasty side effects like drowziness, dry mouth, nausea and even suicidal thoughts. Others say it works great for them. But other issues are that you have to slowly get off of it, supposedly if you dont take it every day, it can cause mood swings among many other things.
I just know that I am sick of these mood swings I have, I am sick of going up and down, all just because of my dumb period. That's why I dont take birth control and opted for an IUD instead.
I want to know your opinions. If it is something you dont want to post in a comment, Email me at klemmybean@aol.com. You can be for it or against it, I dont care, I want opinions, good or bad.
So let me know what you think!
Why cant I be happy all the time like these two?

First things first, Pray. God created your body, mind and spirit. You may be suffering from something and it looks like PMPD. Also, I would strongly encourage taking birthcontrol, eps YAZ. Birth control levels out your hormones and the YAZ has a tiny bit of coverage for depresion, anxiety, etc. The IUD, is in my opinion, is not the best option because of the way it prevents pregnancy. It causes the lining of your walls to be thin. So if an egg is fertilized it will not attach and the fertilized egg will be disposed of. Zolof is for depression. Sounds like, for you it is a hormonal thing. There are doctors that specificaly deal with hormones see if you can find one of them. I was having major PMS and post pardom depression after Devin. I found YAZ to be the best answer for me. But everybody is different. Pray Pray Pray. God will let you know. I hope that helps. I will also be praying for you. I know you want to be a good mommy and wife. :)

I should clarify that the IDU I was talking about is the one with added hormones.
I am currently and have been for a couple of years now, taking Zoloft. It wasn't just depression. It helped stabilize my moods. It made it much easier to "deal" with my kids and life in general. I still would NOT reccommend that or anything other mood stabilizer or antidepressant. I don't care what your Dr tells you. It got to be to the point where 1 pill a day wasn't enough and I wanted 2. It wasn't good. I tried to get off of it, but had MAJOR side effects. Seriously w/drawal symptoms that people would usually have when coming off of serious drugs. I started drinking green smoothies EVERY morning. I have been for about 6 or 7 months now. While drinking those, it has made it much easier to ween (sp?) myself off of the zoloft. It's been a long process. I'm finally down to 1/2 a pill every third day! yay!! Anyways, I would just strongly advise against any kind of prescription.
As for the birth control. I've never tried yaz, but any pill I've ever been on has totally screwed up my hormones and I'll never touch one again. I currently have an IUD (Mirena) and I LOVE it. Very low hormones and I don't have ANY side effects from it. It's great. What kind are you using?
My biggest suggestion that I KNOW works, without a doubt, for me, is the Green Smoothies....with the right ingredients. Email me if you have questions. Hope this helped!
Have you thought about going to a natutropath doctor? or even getting massages a couple times a month can ease your bodies stress level and regulate it. I am so sorry you feel so bad! I hope you start feeling better!
