Let me start off by telling you that I stole this picture of Emily from her Peaceful Birth Services blog and you should check it out www.peacefulbirthaz.com. Emily is a doula and I believe a birth expert. I adore her.
So let me tell you about Emily. If you ever have the privilege to meet her, consider yourself lucky. She is a woman of many talents and a heart so big, if she could love every person in the world, she probably would. I had heard of Emily through a few of my friends blogs and through one of my high school teachers that I remain close with. The more and more I saw her name and heard about her through other people, the more I wanted to meet her. She found me through mutual friends on facebook and emailed me one day. I was ecstatic because I wanted to email her, but I didnt want her to think I was wierd because she didn't know who I was. It turns out we have alot in common.
Throughout my pregnancy with Zach, Emily answered every question I had. She was supposed to be there for my labor and deliver as my doula, but it was hard for us to get together and discuss a birth plan because I live in phoenix and Emily lives in mesa. My labor was a difficult one and I think I would have had a better experience if Emily was there, she would have made it an experience that I could talk about without having regrets. She is that awesome, she makes the best out of difficult situations. She is a strong woman, an inspiration. She inspired me to want to become a doula. (more of that on a post coming soon!) I would like to be support for women like Emily has been for me.
Emily still answers every question I have, and I have alot. She is patient and understanding and always positive. She believes that woman are strong and beautiful and capable of so much.
She is great.
Emily also has another blog where you can read all about her and her family at www.fromthegridandbeyond.blogspot.com
If you are pregnant and want a doula, I highly recommend Emily. Not only will she be the best doula ever, but you will have made a great new friend......

Steph, thank you so much for supporting me in my passion to serve women! I'll just have to make sure I don't have a newborn next time you're expecting ; )-- that way I'll be there for you for sure!
